Exclusive Interview with Rachel Uchitel’s former co-worker at Bloomberg

Rachel Uchitel has been linked as the supposed mistress of Tiger Woods.  But nearly seven years ago, Rachel Uchitel worked as a Bloomberg television producer.  During her employment, her fiance James Andrew O’Grady (then 32 years old) died in the South Tower of the World Trade Center on 9/11.  He was a managing director with Sandler O’Neil, a full service investment banking firm.   Our souce, Mr. X worked with Uchitel at Bloomberg for nearly 3 years.

Bright Lights:  What was it like working with Uchitel?

Mr. X:  She was known by co-workers.  When she walked by, people would turn their heads. 

Bright Lights:  What was her personality like?

Mr. X:  She was certainly a nice person.  Really outgoing and flirty.

Bright Lights:  Did you talk to her much after 9/11?

Mr. X:  She was really upset.  In fact, pictures of her crying were on the cover of magazines.  Maybe even People magazine?

Bright Lights:  When you look at recent pictures of her, what do you see?

Mr. X:  Well I’m pretty sure she has had some work done.  Maybe collagen lips, something with the chin.

Bright Lights:  Do you think its likely she had an affair with Tiger?

Mr. X:  She seems like she likes the spotlight.  Anything is possible.

The Hills = Cheap Thrills

As a long time watcher, and dare I say “fan” of The Hills, it saddens me to finally admit just how fake the show really is. I take solace in the fact that I don’t think the earlier seasons were nearly as fake or scripted. For instance, for the show to be fake, that would mean that Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag never really had an arguement. Or that Brody Jenner and Spencer Pratt never really had an arguement. I would find that hard, if not impossible, to believe.

In last night’s episode, we are expected to believe that Heidi has decided to secretly go off her birth control and get pregnant. We are also expected to believe that Spencer’s friend Charlie (who reminds me of the sleazy guy from Dazed and Confused) has guessed Heidi’s plan. Gee, what a coincidence. Charlie tells Spencer to test Heidi by offering her wine and sushi, two things that pregnant women are told to avoid. I’ll say this much, God bless Spencer for creating 95% of the drama on the show back when it wasn’t fake, but watching Heidi and Spencer navigate serious issues like bringing a child into this world is something I’d rather not see.

Lets cut to the other story of the night. Kristin and Stacie the bartender go to Vegas to escape their issues. Justin Bobby drives all the way to Vegas in the middle of the night to be with Kristin. Just when the story line seemed laughable and almost boring, they through in some girl on girl action. Well played MTV. You’ve got me for another week.

37th International Emmy Awards (2009)

Last night I attended the red carpet for the 37th International Emmy Awards held at the New York Hilton.  Click here for photos.  Katharine McPhee, Alexa Chung, Ed Westwick, Juliana Paes, Moby, and hundreds of other international stars that most people in the U.S. have never heard of.  The scene at the red carpet was interesting.  They had que cards for the photogs since many would not recognize a TV star from countries like Brazil or the Netherlands.  Another thing I find interesting is the drastic difference between a NY and LA red carpet event.  Stars were arriving in taxi cabs, old Lincoln Town Cars, and even one full size van that looked like it is usually used to take tourists to the airport.
